Painter
"All art is at once surface and symbol." ~ Oscar Wilde Richmond uses minimalist settings and symbolic imagery to display a message of hope, peace and contemplation. In a world which he considers obviously and ubiquitously negative, he hopes these pieces evoke introspection and contemplation. Ron Richmond’s work employs symbolism both in subject matter and in form. His paintings explore the relationship of opposites: light and darkness, the living and the decaying, order and chaos, sin and redemption, the ethereal and the concrete. Richmond has exhibited his paintings in galleries and museums in major cities throughout the United States such as New York, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and San Francisco; and in London. His work is collected by museums, corporations, as well as by many private individuals. Richmond received M.F.A. and B.F.A. degrees from Brigham Young University. He has worked as a professional artist for 15 years. |
